I am not sure why I never sent this to the editor, I guess maybe I did not want to start trouble in light of the events. I guess it reflected the (my) mood at the time. I certainly don't feel the same way any more, but in retrospect I still feel that the number of rescuers has always been exagerated. I guess if you count everyone who wanted to help out and who donated stuff it could be a lot more...
