Subject: Caving
Hi! I hope this isn't a repeat message; my other email was acting up so
I had to sent through this one. Anyway, I hope I am emailing Mr. Bentley. I am trying to find some information on how to get started caving and I had no idea who to contact for help, so I am trying you first. My husband and I are interested in caving, and, as I said, have no idea where to start. We have frequented the Guadalupe Mountains for years and have heard and read about the numerous caves in the area and would like to explore them. We ran into the gentleman who issues the cave permits this weekend while we were in the Lincoln National Forest riding 4-wheelers and he was able to give us some information, but not much. He did say that Sitting Bull Falls cave or Cottonwood Cave might be a good place to start. We have no idea what equipment we would need either. If you could give us any advice or point us in the right direction, we would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Maradith Thackerson
