This is forwarded from Dale Pate at Carlsbad Caverns NP:
---------------------------------------------------------------

Colleagues,

Carlsbad Caverns National Park has extended the comment period for the
Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Carlsbad Caverns Cave and Karst
Management Plan.

The National Park Service (NPS) is soliciting comments on this EA. These
comments will be considered in evaluating the EA and making decisions
pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The EA will
remain available for public comment through February 12, 2007. The document
is available at the park’s administrative office, in Carlsbad; on the NPS’s
Planning, Environment and Public Comment (PEPC) website at
http://parkplanning.nps.gov/cave; on the park’s website at www.nps.gov/cave
; and at the Carlsbad Municipal Library.

Comments on the EA are welcome and may be sent via email at the PEPC
website (http://parkplanning.nps.gov/cave) or via US Mail to:

   Carlsbad Caverns National Park
Attn: Cave and Karst Management Plan EA
   3225 National Parks Highway
   Carlsbad, New Mexico 88220-5354

Our practice is to make comments, including names, home addresses, home
phone numbers, and email addresses of respondents, available for public
review. Individual respondents may request that we withhold their names
and/or home addresses, etc., but if you wish us to consider withholding
this information you must state this prominently at the beginning of your
comments. In addition, you must present a rationale for withholding this
information. This rationale must demonstrate that disclosure would
constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of privacy. Unsupported
assertions will not meet this burden. In the absence of exceptional,
documentable circumstances, this information will be released. We will
always make submissions from organizations or businesses, and from
individuals identifying themselves as representatives of or officials of
organizations or businesses, available for public inspection in their
entirety.

Please pass this information on to others that may have an interest in
reviewing this important plan.

Thanks,

Dale Pate
