Just want to send a quick note to let everyone know the Outdoor Pursuits
Center at Texas Tech University is offering a Wilderness First Responder
course in Junction, TX  March 10-18.

This is an 80 course that covers treating medical emergency without the
support of emergency medical systems.  This is a great course for anyone who
travels in the backcountry.  I know on a personal level I'm more comfortable
knowing that those I travel with can handle medical emergencies.

This course spends a considerable amount of time on moving patient with
injuries which transfer directly to cave rescue.

The cost is $475 if you sign up by February 23 otherwise it is $495.  This
cost includes lodging in the open air cabins.
