Preliminary announcement: SW China Karst October 2007

This is a preliminary planning announcement for October 2007 SW China Karst geology, hydrology, and cultural tour.  It is not a caving expedition as such.  A report of the October 2006 trip was posted earlier, but I can send you another if you missed it

In addition to the list from 2006,  cavers that were with us in 2004 included Pete and Karen Lindsley, Harvey and Kathy DuChene, Dave and Sandy Cowan, Ed and Mary Crawford, and Paul and Kathy Greaves.

The 2007 trip will be very much like the one in 2006.   The trip, focused on the Guilin-Yangshuo area, was very well received.

It may take us another month or so to define more specifically the duration and timing.  We are considering 14-16 days, mid to late October, 2007.   In October 2006 we traveled October 12-26, but may push the 2007 trip back to return in early November.  If you have a timing problem, now is the time to let us know.  We should have the itinerary firmed up in early January.

We do have a rough cost estimate based on the recent 2006 trip – please reply off-line and I can provide that, along with additional details.

The trip will be limited in size, both because we want to keep it more intimate and personal, and because we cannot use a large bus on some of the roads we will traverse.  A $100 per person deposit, refundable until March 1, 2007, will hold a place.
