Louise Hose commented on parking fees in California.  True. And it is much 
closer to home than that.

There are, and have been for three years, $3 parking fees to park in the 
Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest.  I haven't checked but 
would bet this is far more widespread in northern NM forests.  Next will be 
a $1 fee for every tree you see while in the forest... .
